Company Presentations

Company Presentations offer students the opportunity to learn about employers, network, and learn more about the actuarial profession in a creative setting.  Employers integrate case studies, career skills, and social events into company presentations to create valuable learning opportunities.
This year the company presentations were a huge success. We average around 60 members at every presentation and we are very thankful the companies were able to take time out of their busy schedules to come to campus to give us exposure to the actuarial world.

If you have any questions or you would like to plan a company presentation for the upcoming Spring Semester, please contact Rob Anderson, the 2010 Company Presentation Chair, at CompanyPresentations@asc-illinois.com.

Meet the Firms

Meet the Firms is a career fair type event that facilitates informative interaction between students and employers to discuss full-time and internship opportunities. This year, Meet the Firms was held in the Illini Union on September 24th, 2009. About 30 firms and over 150 students attended.

For Students:
Meet the Firms is a great chance for students pursing a bachelors or masters in the Actuarial Science program to connect and learn about various firms that hire actuaries. Meet the Firms offer an opportunity for freshman and sophomores to learn and talk to representatives in the actuarial profession while juniors and seniors can inquire and seek internships or full-time positions.

For Employers:
Meet the Firms will allow companies to connect with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign actuarial science undergraduate and graduate students. This is also an opportunity to allow companies to publicize their firm and show students what they have to offer.

The Recruitment Conference

With over 300 qualified students in the program and 60 graduating with multiple exams annually, the Actuarial Science Program in the University of Illinois provides a lot of potential for future employment.  Every year, the Actuarial Science Club proudly hosts the Recruitment Conference, providing opportunities for future employers to meet students.

Overview

This Recruitment Conference is an annual mass-interviewing event that offers future employers the convenient opportunity to conduct first round interviews for full time and internship positions.  Every year, a total of twenty to thirty companies come down to campus to conduct up to 400 interviews.
The Recruitment Conference is typically held during the Fall semester of each school year.
Interviews are arranged through the I-Link system (part of NACE Link), which allows employers to receive resumes, screen for applicants, select preferred and alternate candidates, and otherwise arrange their interviews.

2010 Recruitment Conference

The Recruitment Conference will be held on the 20th, 21st, and 22nd of October 2010. The 2010 VP of Company Relations will be sending more information regarding the Recruitment Conference to company contacts in July 2010.
If you have any questions or if you would like to be added as a contact: please contact Lauren Onderisin, Vice President of Company Relations, at vpcompanyrelations@asc-illinois.com.
